About the Hackathon
Welcome to the ANZ ClimateTech Hackathon, a gathering of passionate innovators and problem-solvers who are ready to tackle one of the most pressing issues of our time: climate change. Recent events, such as the devastating Auckland floods and Hurricane Gabrielle, have highlighted the increasing urgency of addressing climate-related challenges. These natural disasters have left communities grappling with the realities of extreme weather patterns, flooding, and infrastructure damage, underscoring the need for resilient, forward-thinking solutions.
As the world faces growing environmental pressures, we must turn to technology to drive the change needed to protect our planet and ensure a sustainable future. This hackathon is an opportunity for you to harness your skills in software development, data analysis, and innovation to create tools that can help mitigate the impact of climate change, promote sustainability, and foster resilience.
For our youth, the stakes couldn’t be higher. We must act now to preserve the environment they will inherit. Your participation in this hackathon can be a step towards building a better, greener future, where technology and climate action go hand in hand. Let's come together to develop the software solutions that will lead us into a more sustainable world.
